Dr. Adrian L. Mayse, CPA, is a visionary leader in accounting education and a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession. As the Founder and CEO of AL Mayse LLC, a global educational consulting firm, Dr. Mayse specializes in accreditation, program development, and financial literacy education, working to elevate academic standards
and create pathways for underrepresented communities.
Dr. Mayse earned his Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Jackson State University and holds a Certificate in Data Analytics from Cornell University.
His academic expertise and forward-thinking approach to accounting education have positioned him as a respected thought leader in the field.
An accomplished author, Dr. Mayse is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of accounting professionals through his engaging children’s books: When I Grow Up I Want to Be… AnAccountant (2021) and When I Grow Up I Want to Be An Accountant, Too! (2023). These books, praised for their vibrant illustrations and inclusive storytelling, introduce young readers to the world of accounting and encourage children from all backgrounds to envision a future in the
profession.

Dr. Mayse’s academic career spans prestigious institutions, including Howard University, Middle Tennessee State University, and Jackson State University. Most recently, he served as the Dean of the School of Business at Talladega College, where he led a dynamic team of faculty and students. During his tenure, he successfully managed multimillion-dollar budgets, spearheaded accreditation initiatives, and advanced strategic goals to enhance academic excellence.
Recognized for his impactful contributions, Dr. Mayse has received numerous accolades, including the Outstanding Young CPA Award from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Provost’s Distinguished Service Award from Howard University.
